Gregory Payette is an author and artist born in Rhode Island. With over 25 published novels, his work includes crime fiction, short stories, and novels about the way people actually live. His newer stories are often set in 1970s and 80s New England, and his paintings, known for their sense of solitude and place, often become the covers for his books. He now lives in North Carolina, which still surprises him some mornings.
